The Appaloosa Is A Promising Breed
The Spanish brought horses to Mexico in the 1500s and following the Pueblo Revolt, horses reached North America, reaching the Northwest in around 1700. By the early 1700s, they became a part of the lives of the Native Americans, particularly the Nez Perce of Idaho, Oregon, and Washington. They came into limelight for their agility, instantaneous response, strength, sure-footed, and distinctive coat coloring. People of the Northwest Palouse region called these uniquely spotted horses as Palouse Horses, but, with the passage of time, the name was changed to Appaloosa. The Appaloosa horse breed is known for its unique patterned coat. Some of them have striped hooves, mottled skin, and eyes having white sclera.
